    Nordbygg 2018 is up and running. The construction and property sector is welcomed to a fair full of innovation, contacts and knowledge in all showcases and on different stages. During the introductory press briefing, highlights and some clear themes of the week were presented: recruitment, digitalisation, equality and the role of the client.

    Formex Nova in Swedish design initiative in Milan

    Formex Nova will be part of the Swedish presence at Salone del Mobile/Fuorisalone in Milan on April 17-22, 2018. Qian Jiang, the winner of Formex Nova 2017, will participate in an exhibition arranged by Swedish Design Moves, a program sponsored by the government to strengthen Sweden as a design country.

    Unexpected Gatherings – autumn theme for Formex 2018

    The theme for the next Formex (21-24 August 2018) takes inspiration from the unexpected and randomly combined. Decorative, sophisticated, bohemic and rock chic at the same time. Visitors will find unconventional meetings between florists, artisans, architects, designers, stylists, chefs and trend experts.

    Umeå Architectural College no. 1 on plastics

    Tobias Jansson and Oscar Forsman, students at Umeå Architectural College are the winners of Nordbygg’s competition for students of architecture, Nya ögon på plast i arkitekturen (New view on plastics in Architecture). The winning contribution, Paviljong (Pavillon), will be set up in the entrance square at Stockholmsmässan, and function as a café and meeting place during Nordbygg, April 10-13.

    One-third of all visitors to Stockholm Furniture & Light Fair come from abroad

    Stockholm Furniture & Light Fair continues to grow and strengthen its position as the world’s largest meeting place for Scandinavian furniture and lighting design. The fair, which ended last weekend, saw a total of 31 percent overseas visitors representing a record number of 100 countries.

    Stockholm Furniture & Light Fair’s award - Editors’ Choice - will be handed out for the third consecutive year. The jury consists of Editors-in-Chief from several of Europe’s most important design forums. The 2018 jury consists of Marcus Fairs, Dezeen; Adeline Seidel, Stylepark; Donatella Bollani, Domus and Costas Voyatzis, Yatzer.

    Design Week takes over Stockholm in Week 6

    By combining Stockholm Design Week and Stockholm Furniture & Light Fair, Week 6 is now booked in the calendars of buyers, architects, designers and journalists from all over the world. With the trade fair at the middle of it all, the entire city will be buzzing with around 200 events, installations and parties. This year’s Design Week will also include a unique light installation.
