A recurring and appreciated feature of Nordbygg is the materials challenge New Eyes on ceramic tiles. It is a competition directed to Swedish architecture students and where the winning contribution is realised in full scale at Nordbygg.
The work on Nordbygg 2020 is in full swing. Sales of the exhibition area that remains are ongoing and at the same time the rest of the fair content is taking shape. Everything so that visitors and exhibitors get as much as possible out of it.
Nordbygg’s range is increasing and therefore also the relevance for actors outside the industry’s absolute core. The Project Group is working hard to incorporate current topics into the fair. The focus in 2018 on digital solutions for the construction and housing sector was successful and the concept will be further developed for 2020.
In October 2020, Stockholmsmässan will introduce Smart City – Sweden’s leading meeting place for smart cities and urban innovation. Transport solutions of the future, smart properties, digital transformation and a generally better and more sustainable urban environment are some of the topics that will be raised at seminars, workshops, conferences and exhibitions.
Nordbygg is a central market activity for many Nordic companies within the construction and housing industry. The in every way successful fair of 2018 has made many companies make early decisions to return when Nordbygg is back in a little over a year. Two of them are the tech-group Bemsiq and Svenska Fönster, one of Sweden´s leading window manufacturers.
Nordbygg 2018 was judged by exhibitors and visitors to be the best edition ever. The exhibitors especially appreciated a record international interest, something that confirms that the fair is the industry’s foremost in the Nordics and the Baltics. Right now, the Nordbygg team is working to make Nordbygg 2020, April 21 - 24, at least as appreciated.
Nordbygg 2018 was a success - in many ways. But the Project Manager Peter Söderberg and his team are not resting on their laurels, but working full-time with the planning of the next fair. In the content mix for Nordbygg 2020, there is among other things a continued investment in innovation elements.
With 48,000 visitors, 930 high-quality exhibitors and 250 well-visited seminars, Nordbygg 2018 was a success with both the public and the exhibitors. The arrangers are now looking forward to 2020 with confidence, in particular because more than 50 percent of the exhibitor space has already been booked.
Very well-visited, as expected. The number of visitors finished at 48,260 for Nordbygg 2018, just over one thousand more people than in 2016. The positive reviews are coming thick and fast, and already the bookings for Nordbygg 2020 are coming in.
Thursday evening was the time for the big awards at Nordbygg. Five great prizes within construction and housing were awarded on the big stage. One of the presenters was the Secretary of Housing and Digitalisation, Peter Eriksson, and one of the winners was the hockey legend and property owner, Peter Forsberg. The Nordbygg Gold Medal was awarded to the company Operose.
Nordbygg 2018 is up and running. The construction and property sector is welcomed to a fair full of innovation, contacts and knowledge in all showcases and on different stages. During the introductory press briefing, highlights and some clear themes of the week were presented: recruitment, digitalisation, equality and the role of the client.
On April 10, the gates to Nordbygg 2018 will open, the largest and most influential fair for actors in the construction and housing industry in the Nordics. The content of the fair well reflects Nordbygg’s ambition to present the status of the industry and also to drive it in a positive direction.
The Swedish construction sector has many issues on the agenda. Innovative development, new demands on the role of the client and recruitment are a few of them. At Nordbygg 2018, these and many more will be addressed.
Tobias Jansson and Oscar Forsman, students at Umeå Architectural College are the winners of Nordbygg’s competition for students of architecture, Nya ögon på plast i arkitekturen (New view on plastics in Architecture). The winning contribution, Paviljong (Pavillon), will be set up in the entrance square at Stockholmsmässan, and function as a café and meeting place during Nordbygg, April 10-13.
Nordbygg is driving the development in the Swedish construction sector. This is in part done by actively starting and taking part in different initiatives on digital innovation, equality and skills development. These areas will make their mark on Nordbygg 2018, which will take place at Stockholmsmässan on April 10-12.
Nordbygg is basically an arena for transferring knowledge – the industry’s foremost in the Nordics. Lots of knowledge is wrapped into the seminars, which Nordbygg also is investing heavily in for 2018.
The Formex interior design fair, which will be held January 17-20, 2018, has given designer and exhibition architect Synnöve Mork the assignment to design an exhibition in Stockholmsmässan’s entrance hall that inspires and educates. The exhibition will be a collaboration between several artists, each of whom will present their own interpretation.
Fortum and Phoenix Contact are completely new exhibitors at Nordbygg, and both have a digital focus. Fortum introduces SmartLiving, a proprietary platform for the smart home. The goal of Phoenix is to position itself on the market for property automation.
The exhibitors have rushed to Nordbygg 2018, and despite the opening being more than six months away, more than 90 per cent of the exhibition area is already booked. Part of the explanation is that many companies are loyal exhibitors, who know that the early bird catches the worm.
