FORE chooses Ed. Züblin AG as general contractor for its Geisberg Berlin residential project

On 8 January 2016, FORE Partnership and Ed. Züblin AG signed the general contractor agreement for the execution of works on Geisberg Berlin. The site installations will now be mobilised without delay. Construction is scheduled to be completed by the end of 2017.

Geisberg Berlin is a community living project on the site of a historically listed post and telegraph office in Berlin’s Schöneberg district. The building will house 128 owner-occupied flats, five work/live lofts and two retail units, based on a design by the architectural firm Ortner & Ortner Baukunst. With Geisberg Berlin, project partners FORE Partnership (investor) and COPRO Projektentwicklung GmbH (developer) are breathing new life into the historical building, which will unite historical qualities, modern architecture and a new approach to sustainability.

“We are convinced that Ed. Züblin AG, a company with great renown, will deliver a building of exemplary quality,” says Basil Demeroutis, Managing Partner of FORE Partnership. “We look forward to working together as equal partners with all project participants.”

“Geisberg Berlin is a unique project with unique challenges given its status as a historical monument. We are proud to be able to contribute our expertise to this project,” remarks Till Ackers, Senior Site Manager at Ed. Züblin AG.

Stuttgart-based Ed. Züblin AG has about 15,000 employees and, with an annual output of over € 3 billion, is one of Germany’s leading construction companies. Current construction projects of the company, a subsidiary of globally operating STRABAG SE, include rehabilitation and new construction works at Charité Hospital or Upper West in Berlin as well as the second section of the Jena University Hospital. The conversion and revitalisation of Fehrbelliner Höfe in Berlin was also realised by Züblin.
