Mika Eichenholz conducts Swan Lake at Haus für Mozart in Salzburg

Mika Eichenholz returns to work with Salzburger Landestheater when leading Tchaikovsky’s classical ballet Swan Lake. Performances will be held at Haus für Mozart, with opening on March 20.

Swedish conductor Mika Eichenholz studied with Jorma Panula at the Sibelius Academy in Helsinki. He is frequently engaged as guest conductor in Swedish and Finnish orchestras as well as being a returning conductor to orchestras in Easter Europe, Austria, as well as in South America.

He has formed a steady relationship with the Kazan State Opera with which he has toured in Europe on a regular basis with singers from the Bolshoi and Marinsky Theatres in productions of Verdi’s Nabucco, Bizet’s Les Pêcheurs de Perles and Mozart’s Magic Flute. Mika Eichenholz has also been a guest at various Swedish opera houses, e.g. Folkoperan in Stockholm (La Traviata, Das Rheingold), the Gothenburg Opera and Värmlandsoperan.

Mika recently conducted the Kuopio Symphony Orchestra (Finland) in a program from Händel Operas with Agneta Eichenholz as the soprano soloist. He was also very successful conducting the Gävle Symphony Orchestra in the world premier of Daniel Hjort’s percussion concerto.

The upcoming season he will be on tour in South America (Concepción, Santiago, Mendoza) as well as in the USA.
