Newsflash Michael Weinius

At the moment Michael Weinius is in Bilbao for "Das Lied von der Erde" with mezzo-soprano Lilli Paasikivi and the Bilbao Symphony under Günter Neuhold. Concerts will be held on 15th and 16th of May. 

On 6th and 7th of June, Weinius will be back in Sweden for Beethoven’s 9th with the Gothenburg Symphony and Kent Nagano. The week after he heads for Israel for another Beethoven 9th (also with Nagano), but this time with the Israel Philharmonic. On 29th of June he will be solist at the opening concert of Music at Siljan in Sweden, followed by a visit to the Audi summer Concerts in Inglostadt on 13th of July, for ”Dvorak’s Requiem” (Kent Nagano conducting). 

Further ahead, on 16th of August Weinius will participate in the Royal Opera’s yearly opening concert at Gustav Adolfs Torg in Stockholm, where he will be singing the duet from Tristan and Isolde together with Emma Vetter. 

He will sing his first Tristan at the Stockholm Royal Opera in spring 2015.

    Recently Michael Weinius was in Copenhagen for a concert and a recording of Paul von Klenau’s 9th symphony, then a very brief visit to Stockholm for Das Lied von der Erde with Lawrence Rennes and the orchestra of the Royal Opera. We reach him just as he is about to board a plane to Düsseldorf where he performs parts of Siegfried with the Deutsche Oper am Rhein in ”Der Ring an einem Abend”.

    On March 13 Canadian-Japanese violin virtuoso Karen Gomyo appears with the Danish Radio Symphony Orchestra for the third time. The concert will be broadcast live on the Danish Radio and led by Andrew Manze. Karen Gomyo has toured the world since she was 15 years old. She recently made her first appearance at Het Concertgebouw in Amsterdam with Den Haag Residentie Orkest.
