Press release -

New direct route to Corsica from Göteborg Landvetter Airport

Göteborg Landvetter Airport is adding a new international route to its offering. On April 25, the Mediterranean carrier Air Corsica will fly non-stop between Gothenburg and the French island of Corsica.

In setting up operations in Gothenburg, Corsica’s largest airline is now taking its first step into the Scandinavian market. The route will be Air Corsica’s third destination outside France, in addition to London and Brussels, and will be flown to the carrier’s secondary airport, Bastia Airport, in the northeast of the island, during the period April 25 to October 3.

The direct route between Göteborg Landvetter Airport (GOT) and Bastia Airport (BIA) will be served once a week, on Saturdays, until October 3 by an Airbus A320neo with a flying time of around 2.5 hours. The majority of seats are chartered by the Swedish tour operator Langley.

Air Corsica was formed in 1989 and has its main base in Ajaccio at Napoleon Bonaparte Airport. Its aircraft fleet consists of one ATR 42, five ATR 72, four Airbus A320ceo and two A320neo. The carrier is partly owned by Air France.

For many years, Swedavia has carried out ambitious sustainability work. All ten of its airports will have zero emissions of fossil carbon dioxide from their own operations by the end of 2020. Swedavia also works actively to promote the industry’s transition to bio fuel and has the goal that five per cent of all fuel used to refuel aircraft at Swedish airports shall be fossil-free by 2025.
