Press release -

Wizz Air investing further at Göteborg Landvetter with new direct route to Sarajevo ahead of the summer season

The Hungarian low-cost carrier Wizz Air develops new opportunities in the Swedish market by expanding its range of destinations from Göteborg Landvetter Airport with a new non-stop service to the capital of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

At the end of May, it will for the first time be possible to fly directly between Gothenburg, Sweden’s second city, and Sarajevo, the capital of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Wizz Air is to establish a new base at Sarajevo International Airport, enabling the launch of the new point-to-point traffic. As the sole carrier the airline will operate the Göteborg Landvetter (GOT) – Sarajevo International (SJJ) route twice weekly with an A320 model aircraft, starting on 23 May.

Western Sweden has a large share of residents with roots in the Balkan region and Bosnia in particular. When the world reopens, people will long to meet family and friends.
