Anna Ryott new Managing Director for Swedfund

Anna Ryott has a unique background with experience from both business and civil society organisations. At present, Anna Ryott holds the post of Managing Director of SOS Children’s Villages, Sweden and previously she worked as Deputy Secretary General for Unicef Sweden. On the business side, she served as Assistant Managing Director at Storåkers McCann, and prior to that she worked at McKinsey and Hagströmer & Qviberg.

Anna Ryott has a long and interesting track record with excellent results throughout her career. Therefore she takes up her new position at Swedfund amid high expectations for successful leadership. Anna Ryott’s experience from different business sectors has also made her a frequent speaker on the subject of corporate sustainability.

“To have the opportunity to lead and develop Swedfund, whose mission is to reduce poverty in the world through sustainable business, is tremendously important. I am convinced that investment in private sector development is essential for countries to establish a high standard of living. I look forward to implementing the new strategies with a focus on Sub-Saharan Africa and on sectors which are fundamental to the reduction of poverty,” said Anna Ryott.

Anna Ryott will start on the 19th of August as MD of Swedfund. Until then she will continue as Secretary General at SOS Barnbyar. Anders Craft will continue as Acting Managing Director for Swedfund until Anna Ryott officially takes over as MD. “Anders Craft has, in his position as Acting MD, been instrumental in the development work we have undertaken at Swedfund. He will continue to have a key role in Swedfund’s ongoing development,” stated Claes Ekström, Chairman of Swedfund.
