Strong defence and security profile joins the board at Systematic
Christina Balis, Global Campaign Director for Training & Mission Rehearsal at QinetiQ, is a new member of the software company’s board of directors.
Systematic, a leading software and systems company in the defence and healthcare sector, has appointed Christina Balis as a new member of its board of directors. Balis brings extensive experience and expertise in the defence and security sector and a solid strategic and international perspective.
Balis is currently the Global Campaign Director for Training & Mission Rehearsal at UK-based QinetiQ, a leading defence and security company. In this role, she is responsible for developing and implementing the company’s strategy and long-term business-winning activities in defence training, exercises, and mission rehearsal.

Prior to joining QinetiQ, Balis was the head of European operations of Avascent, a global strategy and management consulting firm specialising in aerospace, defence and government-driven markets. She also worked as vice president for strategy and corporate development at Serco Inc. and as a fellow in the Europe Programme of the Center for Strategic and International Studies.
Balis holds an MA and a PhD in International Relations from the Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies and a BA (Hons) in European Business Administration. She is fluent in English, French, German, and Greek and has published widely on issues of transatlantic defence and security.
