Telenor Connexion achieves the AWS IoT Competency Validation

Stockholm, Sweden – 26 January 2022 - Telenor Connexion, the specialized internet of things (IoT) company within the Telenor Group, has achieved the AWS IoT Competency Validation, which recognizes IoT partners with deep domain expertise and edge-to-cloud solutions built on Amazon Web Services (AWS). Telenor Group is one of the world’s major mobile operators, operating more than 17 million connections across some 200 countries.

To support the seamless integration and deployment of IoT solutions, AWS established the AWS IoT Competency Program to help customers identify consulting and technology Partners within the AWS Partner Network (APN) with deep industry experience and expertise.

The AWS IoT Competency status recognizes Telenor Connexion’s capability to provide secure, global IoT services across a variety of networks and applications.

While other Nordic and European companies have qualified for the achievement before, this marks the first time a telecommunications company in EMEA has received this certification.

Achieving AWS IoT Competency status differentiates Telenor Connexion as an AWS Partner Network (APN) member that has proven success delivering IoT solutions seamlessly on AWS. To receive the designation, APN members must demonstrate expertise and undergo an assessment of the security, performance, and reliability of their solutions. The validation process included a review of Telenor Connexion’s IoT Cloud service and select customer cases, as well as a review of their technical service delivery requirements.

Telenor Connexion developed their IoT Cloud service using core cloud services and serverless technology from AWS as part of its foundation, enabling them to deliver a scalable, secure, and robust managed IoT application enablement service. Telenor Connexion’s IoT Cloud Service allows companies to easily connect their products to the cloud, as well as collect and store data from their connected devices.

Cristoff Martin, Chief Marketing Officer at Telenor Connexion, said: “The accreditation of the AWS IoT Competency validates the confidence our customers already have in us. Our customers need to be able to rely on our capacity to deliver secure, long-lasting connectivity services that will sustainably support their growth. We look forward to continuing our journey as an AWS APN Partner as the world continues to grow towards a more connected future.”
