KIS Student wins CIS International Student Award 2016

KIS is very proud to share the news that our student Mathis (Ken) Lohatepanont is the winner of the Council of International Schools (CIS) International Student Award 2016 (Award for individuals) for his project on Thai and global politics.

The CIS report says:

"In a series of blog posts stretching back to 2012 and beyond, Mathis (Ken) has sought to explain, using wit and erudition, situations as diverse as the 2011 floods in Thailand, the Greek financial meltdown, the rise in popularity of Donald Trump in the USA and the reasoning behind the coup that took place here in 2014. In all of these he takes an apolitical stance and is open to both comment and discussion with his readers. He has used his blog to educate not just himself but also countless readers of his pages." "The CIS International Student Award recognises outstanding students at CIS Member Schools for projects which exemplify internationalism. International Student Awards are presented to an individual student or a group of students in recognition of their contributions to the promotion of global citizenship and the development of international awareness in their communities."
