A dream Stay for Railway Fans in Hokkaido, Japan! Train Simulator Room Opens at the Fairfield by Marriott Sapporo!

Tobu Railway, the operator of the simulator cab (short for cabin), and Tobu Ryokuchi, the operator of the Fairfield by Marriott Sapporo, have opened a train simulator room! From January 28, 2022 through February 28, 2022, guests and hotel visitors can try out the simulator for a modest price per group - one group per day, up to three persons per group, for up to three hours (details below). A separate use plan for staying guests will launch on March 1, 2022.

Train Simulator full panel display - Guest Bedroom

This is the second train simulator room created by the Tobu Hotel Group, following the Asakusa Tobu Hotel, whose simulator opened in October 2021. The train simulator is relocated from an actual one used by the Tobu Tojo Line train operators for training. The speedometer and other gauges move as the train is operated, giving the user the same experience as in a real driver's cab. Plus, the monitor will display realistic computer graphics of the scenery along the train route, giving the user an authentic driving experience.

Train Simulator Operated in Guest Bedroom

The interior of this room features the steam locomotive "SL Taiju" (class 11 No. 207) themed decorations. Although Taiju is currently operating in the Nikko and Kinugawa region, it previously operated in Hokkaido. The simulator gives visitors a chance to experience both Tobu Railway's contemporary train service and its historic steam locomotive offering.

Overview of the Train Simulator
The train simulator was used for training purposes in the Shinrin-Koen Station service area in 2013. The driver's train car is that of a "Tobu 50070" type train, and visitors can experience driving with the same mass controller handle, speedometer, and other operating equipment as the real thing. In addition, users can set the departure station, departure number line, and speed limit for each closed section, allowing them to experience a variety of environments, from standard to phantasmagorical
