“TOKYO SKYTREETOWNSM Dream Christmas 2018” will be held at TOKYO SKYTREETOWN during the period between Thursday, November 8 and Tuesday, December 25, 2018.

Under the theme “Colorful Christmas” throughout TOKYO SKYTREETOWNSM this year, an illumination event featuring brightly-colored ornament balls and other special attractions will be offered to set the mood for Christmas.

In the annual projection mapping show, this year the special show titled “Wonderful Destiny ― A Gift from the Sky on A Special Night” will be screened, where colorful lights and images produced in combination with laser beams are projected onto the TOKYO SKYTREE’s tower body surface of up to 340 meters. Visitors will enjoy the Japan’s tallest mapping show that utilizes the height of TOKYO SKYTREE.

In addition to illuminated Garden highlighting a dynamic 8-meter-tall “flower” Christmas tree that is much bigger and more spectacular than that of last year, the event will also feature an illumination event using about 520,000 light bulbs as well as the TOKYO SKYTREE special lighting, giving TOKYO SKYTREE TOWN a Christmas feel and creating a colorful, dazzling and magical atmosphere throughout the facility. On Thursday, November 8 when the Christmas lighting will start, special guests will appear at the Christmas special lighting ceremony.

Also, TOKYO SKYTREE will hold a greeting event of the TOKYO SKYTREE official character, Sorakara-chan, and a Christmas song live performance. At TOKYO Solamachi, a Christmas market that makes visitors feel the real European Christmas and other various special events will be offered, while a wide variety of Christmas events will also be held throughout TOKYO SKYTREE TOWN.

◆About TOKYO SKYTREETOWNSM Dream Christmas 2018

1. TOKYO SKYTREETOWNSM Projection Mapping

In the annual projection mapping event, this year the special show titled “Wonderful Destiny ― A Gift from the Sky on A Special Night” will be screened, where colorful lights and images produced in combination with laser beams are projected onto the TOKYO SKYTREE’s tower body surface of up to 340 meters. The mapping show was produced by Mr. Daisuke Hashimoto who has worked on image production for famous historical sites across Japan and also received various awards for his works. Visitors will enjoy the colorful, magical and beautiful images created by the eminent visual artist.

■Content　The combination of colorful laser beams and 3-dimensional projection mapping will display a fantastic story on the TOKYO SKYTREE’s tower body, where the spirit of the sky and the spirit of flower explore together the worlds of forest, deep ocean, and starry sky. Visitors will enjoy dynamic, colorful visual effects that utilize the height of TOKYO SKYTREESM.

2. Illuminations

In this event, candle color illuminations using about 520,000 colorful, dazzling light bulbs will be available to enjoy throughout TOKYO SKYTREE TOWN. The town around TOKYO SKYTREE will be enveloped in a Christmas mood with beautifully illuminated Light Garden featuring a dynamic 8-meter-tall “flower” Christmas tree that is much bigger and more spectacular than that of last year.

(1) Illuminated GARDEN

Sky Arena at the base of TOKYO SKYTREESM will have Light Garden with illuminated flowerbeds arranged around a dynamic 8-meter-tall “flower” Christmas tree that is much bigger and more spectacular than that of last year. The special garden will be decorated with colorful flowers during daytime, while wrapped in a fantastic light at night. Visitors will also enjoy the Illumi-Show offering lighting effects in synchronization with the music.

(2) Christmas Wreath Photo Spot

A big Christmas wreath with a diameter of 3.2 meters will appear in Hanami-zaka Square. This is a photo spot where visitors can stand in the middle of the wreath and take a commemorative photo.

3. TOKYO SKYTREE Christmas Special Lighting

Two types of Christmas special lighting will be offered by using TOKYO SKYTREE to resemble the world’s tallest Christmas tree or “Champagne Tree” and to resemble a candle or “Candle Tree.”

4. Solamachi Christmas Market 2018

Christmas market will be held at Sky Arena featuring illuminated Garden at the base of TOKYO SKYTREESM. There also will be a warmly lighted Hütte (European-style lodge) with fancy decorations where visitors can enjoy food, beer, and sweets, while viewing the Christmas special illuminations and lighting.

5. TOKYO SKYTREE Christmas Events

At the TOKYO SKYTREESM observation deck with Christmas decorations, a mini show “Sorakara-chan’s Happy Christmas 2018” will be held to celebrate the advent of Christmas with songs and dances by the TOKYO SKYTREE’s official characters: Sorakara-chan, Teppenpen, and Sukoburuburu. Visitors are welcome to join the music show because the choreography is so simple that they can enjoy dancing to Christmas music while remaining seated. On days when the show is not offered, a greeting event will be held where visitors can meet Sorakara-chan in Christmas special costume. Visitors can join the events to be held in the observation deck for free, while admission fee for the observation deck is required.

(1) Sorakara-chan’s Happy Christmas 2018

This is a mini show where Sorakara-chan, Teppenpen, and Sukoburuburu will sing songs and dance to celebrate the advent of Christmas. Even those new to such an event can casually join and enjoy the show with Christmas music.

(3) TOKYO SKYTREESM Christmas Song Live Performance

This is a mini live performance to be attended by popular singers who will sing mainly love songs for Christmas season nights against a backdrop of the wonderful starry sky and the breathtaking night view from the observation deck. Visitors can enjoy listening to romantic music with their beloved person at the observation deck of the world’s tallest tower.

(4) SKYTREE ROUND THEATER Happy Christmas

A special program “Happy Christmas” will be screened at SKYTREE ROUND THEATER that uses the TOKYO SKYTREE Tembo Deck Floor 350’s glass windows with a width of 110 meters and a height of 2 meters as a large-sized screen. Visitors can enjoy the Christmas special showing in tune with the night view from TOKYO SKYTREE.

(5) Giveaway “Merry Christmas” Sticker

Visitors can get an original sticker by saying “Merry Christmas” to a staff member wearing a Santa Claus hat in TOKYO SKYTREESM.

(6) Window Cleaning by SKYTREE Santa Claus

Window cleaning staff in Santa Claus costume will clean the window glasses of TOKYO SKYTREE observation deck using a cleaning gondola for a limited period of time.

*Window cleaning will be held on an irregular base around 7 to 8 days each month during the period above in consideration of weather conditions.
