Major steps taken on the journey towards circularity - Trioworld publishes its Sustainability Report 2022
Trioworld, the leading producer of innovative and sustainable high-performance plastic packaging solutions in Europe and North America with its head office in Sweden, has published its seventh annual sustainability report. Highlights during the year are, among many, the EcoVadis Platinum rating, the commitment to the Science Based Targets initiative and the significant investment in expanding the company’s recycling capabilities.

Our ESG work (Environmental, Social, and Governance) is on the right track, acknowledged, for the second consecutive year, by the EcoVadis Platinum rating. We have set an ambitious sustainability strategy and this rating is a recognition of the hard work and commitment of everyone at Trioworld contributing to deliver on our sustainability targets.” says Oskar Karlsson, CPO and VP Sustainability at Trioworld Group.
In August 2022, Trioworld took an important step by sending the commitment letter to the Science Based Targets initiative and started preparing for target submission. Working according to the SBTi to reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions is a natural step in Trioworld’s sustainable business strategy to lead the industry change towards circularity in plastic packaging.
Significant investments in recycling capabilities
During 2022, the decision was made to invest more than 50 million EUR in expanding Trioworld’s recycling capabilities. The investments will make it possible to supply high-quality post-consumer recycled material to stretch film. It is fundamental in reaching the target of 30% post-consumer recycled content in the product portfolio by 2025. The investment in Sweden is co-funded by the Swedish Environmental Protection Agency through Klimatklivet and the European union – NextGenerationEU.
