Trioworld publishes Sustainability Report 2025, accelerating circular plastics
Trioworld publishes 2025 Sustainability Report, strengthening the foundation for circular plastics:
Smålandsstenar, Sweden April 22, 2026 – Trioworld, a leading producer of high‑performance plastic film solutions, today published its Sustainability Report 2025, outlining progress towards the company’s ambition to “responsibly lead our industry into circularity, together.” The report highlights a milestone year in which Trioworld celebrated 60 years in business while investing in the capabilities, partnerships, and systems needed to scale circular plastics at an industrial level.
“2025 was about building the foundation for the next decade,” said Andreas Malmberg, CEO, Trioworld Group. “We expanded our recycling capacity, advanced design‑for‑recycling and high‑PCR solutions, and strengthened our global footprint so we can support customers locally as expectations on climate and circularity continue to rise. We have made more progress in one year; we have built stronger capabilities for the years ahead.”
Key highlights from the 2025 Sustainability Report
-
New Recycling Division and expanded capacity
Trioworld established a dedicated Recycling Division to sharpen governance and accelerate circular services. A central milestone was the inauguration of a new recycling facility in Korsberga, Sweden, which increases the Group’s annual recycling capacity and enables film‑to‑film circularity in additional applications. -
Triocircular circularity service and high‑quality PCR
The company launched Triocircular, a service that helps customers close the loop on plastic film. Through tailored partnerships, Trioworld collects used film, recycles it into high‑quality post‑consumer recycled (PCR) material, and reintroduces it into new film production. Triocircular PCR is also offered as a standalone material for converters seeking reliable recycled content. -
Scaling recycled content with Loop35 and downgauged solutions
Trioworld expanded its Loop35 portfolio to include SafeHood stretch hoods and compression films with 35% PCR content. These products are designed to maintain load security and performance while reducing reliance on virgin plastics. The Group also continued to grow downgauged films that use less material without compromising functionality. -
Leadership in design for recycling
In 2025 the company advanced its design‑for‑recycling program, including new mono‑material coffee packaging and broader availability of design‑for‑recycling alternatives across its range. A large share of Trioworld’s sold volumes is now designed for recycling, helping customers meet emerging regulatory and market expectations. -
Stronger global platform for local circularity
The acquisition of Filmtec in India and the preparation of a new production site in Indiana, USA, strengthened Trioworld’s presence in key growth regions. These investments are intended to shorten supply chains, enhance security of supply and support regional solutions with lower transport‑related emissions. -
Governance, transparency and external recognition
Trioworld’s Sustainability Report 2025 is prepared in accordance with the GRI Standards and fulfills the statutory sustainability reporting requirements applicable to the Group. The company continues to align its work with science‑based climate targets, the UN Global Compact and the UN Sustainable Development Goals, and maintains strong external ESG ratings.
“Our progress is the result of collaboration, across our own teams and with customers, recyclers, technology partners and policymakers,” Malmberg added. “The transition to a circular plastics system will take time, but the direction is clear. We are committed to combining high‑performance film solutions with lower climate impact and real circular outcomes.”
