Snowflake Obsidian is black obsidian with white or grayish spots, composed of quartz. It forms in areas of past or present volcanic activity, and is in fact formed when lava cools quickly. This is nature’s way to create art: a natural decoration that emerges from the darkness of the stone - like a falling snowflake during the darkest winter night.
