OAV's origin and belief

“Create spectacular machines for our customers, and satisfy every customer completely”

In 1978, Mike Liu founded OAV Equipment and Tools, Inc., which started out as a manufacturer of band saw machines and DIY woodworking machines. Although he didn’t have a good grasp of the English language, he always ensured that his customers felt attended to, and did everything he could to make sure his customers were satisfied. He and his staff worked around the clock in order to make sure that his shipments were ready on time.

In 2000, the company grew to 200 employees. Mike established his own foundry, and OAV began to produce sliding table saws. Outside of Europe and the United States, the main countries that purchased saws were Iran and India. One day, we visited one of the factories that utilized our saws. We were disheartened to discover that most factories did the edge banding jobs by hand, after cutting the panels with the OAV saws, and the hands of the workers were damaged, due to edge banding by hand. The general manager, Dennis Liu, made up his mind on the spot, and told everyone that we would develop user-friendly, reliable, multi-functional edge banders for customers who were unable to afford the expensive machines, and that our mission was to help them.

OAV's mission and vision

The edge banding machine he envisioned was produced in early 2005, but it was not perfect. In many countries, small factories could only afford 1 machine, which had to run 16 - 24 hours to complete the workload. In addition to being durable, the machine had to be versatile, and work effectively with different materials. The general manager knew that the difficulties the customers faced were an opportunity for us to improve our product, in order to best serve their needs. After continuous innovation, in 2010, we launched a whole series of edge banding machines in order to meet the needs of many different customers. As of the present moment, tens of thousands of machines have been sold throughout the world.
