Uddeholm launches global webinars

From the beginning of 2019, Uddeholm is launching their new products through global webinars. By doing this, the company gives its customers all over the world the same information, at the same time. Uddeholm sees the webinars as a modern an environmentally-friendly way to market their new tool steel grades.

Uddeholm had their first “Uddeholm Global Webinar” April 9th at the launch of tool steel Uddeholm Dievar. The launch was repeated three times during one day in order to match the different time zones of Asia, Europe and Americas. One month later, the same procedure took place at the launch of Uddeholm Tyrax ESR, the company’s newest tool steel.

- This is an efficient way to tell our sales companies about the new steel grades, explains Robert Gustafsson, Brand and Communication Manager of Uddeholm. This way, we target our markets all over the world without having to leave the mill in Sweden.

The sustainable aspect of the new launch procedure is vital. By using digital communications instead of having meetings in person, Uddeholm saves both resources and the environment.

- It is a natural development which follows the way the society is going as well as our operational development. Uddeholm’s top priority is to offer the maximum possible customer benefit with the minimum possible environmental and energy impact, says Mr. Gustafsson.

The participation of the webinars has been very good – representatives from 90 different countries has joined – and the feedback as well. Uddeholm is planning on continuing with this concept on their upcoming launches. A total of nine more webinars will take place this year.
