Christmas Afternoon Tea

Afternoon tea is a British classic.

London hotels in particular, has a vast array of choice on offer. An the chefs of these top hotels are keen as mustard to out do one another in creativity and taste.

Afternoon Tea with a twist is fast becoming a new trend. There are Chocolate Afternoon Teas, Fashionista Afternoon teas. Some of which are where its the cakes lending them selves to tasting sensations or visual masterpieces.Others are where the Tea its self are the delectable feature of choice.

Over the years I've tried many on offer over London.

My advice is,if you spend a little bit extra, your looking at a more reliable option.Perhaps splash out,and enjoy in a 5* hotel in the West End.

I recently tried the Christmas Afternoon Tea,at The London Hilton in Hyde Park.

As you've probably gathered from the above picture, this afternoon tea was a colorful story board, offered up on a decadent stand. The setting for the cake was a modern but yet classic, set of glass, square plates.

First up,The Bottom tier were plane scones, and scones with chocolate drops inside.Slightly warm upon arrival,an utter joy to eat.

Next up where Hazelnut and Marmalade filled cupcakes, with garish green icing. Light sponge and beautifully smooth icing. Each bit was an exciting mouthful of flavors.

The final tier (possible the best of all),was a tier made up of more Christmas themed biscuits, also accompanied by a Macaroon,a sherbet moos and a chocolate. All of which where on a tier entirely made from chocolate.

As a total sweet tooth, this afternoon tea really is an absolute must.
