HAPPY MONDAYS SUPPORT GIG FUNDRAISING PARTNERSHIP WITH ACTION AGAINST HUNGER

LONDON, 20 February, 2019: Happy Mondays has pledged to help raise funds for humanitarian charity Action Against Hunger's MealTickets campaign throughout their 2019 UK tour in October and December. MealTickets is aimed at raising money to save the lives of malnourished children caught up in crises across the world.

Fans will also be able to donate when buying concert tickets online, with 91 pence from every pound raised going directly towards the many life-saving projects of Action Against Hunger.

Happy Mondays singer, Shaun Ryder said: “Happy Mondays are supporting Action Against Hunger by making our 2019 tour a MealTickets tour. The MealTickets campaign adds a small donation to gig tickets to save children who might otherwise die from severe malnutrition in some of the worst humanitarian emergencies worldwide. It’s good to know that by touring live, we can raise funds that really help save lives.”

Jean-Michel Grand, Action Against Hunger UK’s chief executive, added: “Action Against Hunger is already the UK food industry’s charity of choice so this new partnership with the music industry is a really exciting development for us. More than 3.1 million children across the globe die every year from malnutrition, but music fans can help change this horrifying statistic. If every ticket for every concert raised just a small donation, it could change the future for millions of children.”

Action Against Hunger is now looking for further musicians to follow in the footsteps of the Happy Mondays and join the MealTickets campaign to ensure even more malnourished children get the life-saving treatment they need.
