Getting the customer point of view – Why pixel perfect, lossless video, and IP matter more than ever in the ProAV sector

Integrated Systems Europe (ISE) is the world’s leading AV and Integrated Systems Exhibition and is in full swing in Barcelona this week!

We caught up with VP of EMEA Sales, Jamie Adkin, who explained how the conversations with system integrators have highlighted a number of core challenges that their customers are trying to solve with IP KVM. here are three of them.

1. AVoIP + USB ≠ IP KVM

We’ve spoken with lots of system integrators who have previously used AVoIP products that have a basic USB connectivity bolted on. They are realizing that IP KVM offers much more. More specifically, they are excited by the user experience, the management tools and our high performance connectivity IP KVM has to offer. That’s all driven by the needs of customers who set the highest standards for security, safety, performance and reliability.

2. Pixel Perfect vs Visually lossless

Most AVoIP solutions claim to be visually lossless. In reality, many drop frames and/or show visible artefacts when displaying static images, text or graphical tools. Customers are turning to us when image quality is critical. Our IP KVM solutions use a proprietary codec we created to deliver high-frame rates (up to 240fps), incredibly low latency and lossless video specifically for KVM. It’s validated by global leaders in medical imaging, radar and visual effects applications.

3. Combining the physical and virtual world

The ADDERLink™ INFINITY range now supports connectivity to RDP, VNC, HTML5 and SSH sources, as well as our own hardware transmitters. With customers deploying IP KVM in corporate LAN and WAN environments, it is understandable they want reassurance their data and visual content is protected and secured. User access rights, Encryption, and our Protection Profile 4.0 certificated secure KVM products have all been major talking points.

It’s no surprise perhaps that reliability, longevity and lead times have also been major talking points. And I’m delighted to say we have been able to help customers to close projects this week by ticking the boxes on all three.
