Allianz welcomes new Chief Data Officer for UK business

Following the creation of a new centralised data function, Allianz UK has announced Akhil Lalwani as Chief Data Officer (CDO), reporting to Fergal Coburn, Chief Operating Officer (COO).

In this role Akhil will play a pivotal part in guiding and shaping the strategic direction of the Allianz UK Data Centre of Excellence overseeing the Data Strategy, Privacy & Governance, Data Architecture, Data Engineering and Business Intelligence teams.

Akhil has extensive industry experience including working with companies such as Barclays and BT. He joins Allianz from Convex Insurance where he held the role of CDO. Prior to this he was Head of Data Platforms at Prudential where he led their digital growth and customer experience strategy.
