Press release -

Allianz and Evoque launch new sustainable property salvage partnership

Allianz UK has announced a new partnership with Evoque Group Limited as part of the general insurer’s ongoing commitment to integrate sustainability into core business decisions and create more sustainable claims journeys.

Evoque Group Limited, are a market-leading supplier specialising in zero-to-landfill solutions, including salvage resale, and recycling. Working initially with the commercial property claims team, Evoque will identify items that can be salvaged, repurposed, or disposed of in an environmentally responsible manner.

In 2024, Evoque diverted 3.3 million kg of waste away from landfill using a mix of salvage resale and zero to landfill recycling. This equated to an approximate Co2 reduction of 7,500 metric tons. The company aim to increase this to 6 million kg of waste diversion in 2025 through partnerships with businesses such as Allianz.

The partnership approach contributes not only to a prompt resolution of the claim for the customer but also offers peace of mind that environmental standards have been considered. This means that damaged materials are handled responsibly and items unsuitable for salvage are disposed of sustainably, reducing the amount of waste transferred to landfill. In addition, the salvage value (minus costs and fees) will be credited back to the claim reducing overall claims costs.

Matt Cox, Chief Claims Officer Allianz UK commented:
“Allianz puts a great emphasis on working sustainably and I’m excited that we can add our partnership with Evoque to the work we’ve been doing across claims as part of our sustainability focus. Property salvage strategies are not consistent across the industry, so this is an opportunity for us to lead the way and enable our customers to act more sustainably too. While we are currently launching the partnership in commercial property, we are hoping that we can extend to other parts of claims in the future.”

James Whittock, Evoque, Business Development Director added:
“We are delighted to be partnering with Allianz to assist in driving meaningful change to the way waste is managed following an insurance claim. Our zero-to-landfill strategy supports Allianz sustainability goals whilst delivering practical, innovative solutions that benefit the environment and the wider community. Working with an insurer of Allianz’s calibre aligns with Evoque’s strategic goals to be the leading zero to landfill solution in the insurance market, and we’re excited about working together and taking this initiative forward.”
