Petplan proudly brings new ITV show 'Fern Britton: Inside the Vet’s, to our screens this summer
Petplan, the UK's leading pet insurer, has proudly co-created a brand new TV series showcasing the everyday life in a veterinary practice. Produced by Love Monday TV Fern Britton: Inside the Vet’s, will premiere on ITV1 and ITVX, or STV and STV Player in Scotland, from Friday 4th July at 2pm.
This new show highlights the incredible work veterinary teams do day in and day out, as well as the strong bond between pets and their owners. Hosted by TV’s Fern Britton, alongside vet Dr James Greenwood, viewers are taken behind the scenes of a busy veterinary clinic and shown the various treatments offered at the practice, from routine check-ups and dental care to emergency surgeries and everything in between.
The series is filmed at The Grove Vets in Bristol, an independent, family run practice, owned and run by husband-and-wife team Andy and Amy Valenzia, and promises to be a heartwarming journey through the world of veterinary care.
Practice owner and Vet Andy Valenzia comments: “We saw this as a brilliant opportunity to highlight the work of our incredible team and to help the public better understand what goes on in a veterinary practice. As a family-run, independent clinic, we pride ourselves on offering a personalised, compassionate approach to every pet and their owner.
“With growing conversation around the cost of veterinary care, we felt it was important to also show the depth of expertise, dedication, and advanced technology that goes into ensuring the health and wellbeing of the nation’s pets.”
Fern Britton shared her enthusiasm: "Every pet has their story and every owner has theirs, so I’m absolutely thrilled to be part of this new series for ITV. Animals have always been a huge love of mine and getting a behind-the-scenes look at the incredible work the veterinary team does every day has been a privilege."
"Handing your pet over to the vet for any procedure is a worrying time. This series gives us a glimpse of what happens beyond the consulting room door, and is full of heart, fascinating stories, and, of course, plenty of adorable animals - I can’t wait to share it with viewers!"
The show helps reinforce some important educational messages about the responsible buying and keeping of pets. This includes the need to get the right pet insurance to help you get your pet the best care.
Jo Maclennan, Director of Trading at Petplan commented: "At Petplan, we are incredibly proud to be bringing Fern Britton: Inside the Vet’s to ITV and ITVX screens this summer. As the UK’s no.1 pet insurer we wanted to showcase what good insurance looks like in action and this show allowed us to do that alongside the incredible work of the team at Grove Vets in Bristol. Our policies cover things some other policies don’t and the heartwarming stories featured in the show really brought to life why this is important in helping pets get the best care.”
