Press release -

Do you really want your leaflets delivered cheaply!!

On a daily basis, we get a number of enquiries into the pricing of our leaflet door drops and whilst our prices are comparable with most leaflet delivery companies, we have never set ourselves out to be the cheapest.

Like with any other purchase, price is important, but it should not be the deciding factor in selecting which leaflet delivery company to trust.  You probably didn’t buy the cheapest house or car that you could and the last time you took your partner out for a meal, you probably did not take them to the cheapest fast food joint in town.

There are a number of companies, who will quote silly amounts for solus delivery (where your leaflet is delivered on its own).  I’ve heard it as low as £30 per thousand.  Lets look at this logically for a moment.

On average, a fit distributor will deliver to 150 addresses per hour.  It could be a little more or less, depending upon the location, weather, number of leaflets etc.  Therefore 1,000 leaflets will take about 6.5 hours to complete.  If you are paying the leaflet delivery company £30 solus then the company are turning over £4.61 per hour for that job.

From the leaflet company perspective,  if they are receiving £4.61 per hour,  they’ve then got to take out their expenses, petrol, insurances, overheads etc.  How much can they afford to pay the distributor and still make enough profit for them to make the job worth while. I’d suggest it’d be somewhere in the region of £2.50-£3 per hour.  How likely are they to have invested in the staff and resources to be able to plan and track their delivery rounds? Ask them how they are checking to ensure that all the leaflets are actually delivered.

From the distributor perspective, ask yourself this,  if you where being paid £3 per hour to deliver leaflets,  are you going to be as diligent with the leaflets as you could be or are you going to find ways of getting rid of the leaflets as fast as you can to reduce the amount of time you spend?  This is where you run into problems such as multiple leaflets being delivered into the same letterboxes or worse still, your leaflets being dumped in the nearest skip. If you were being paid £3 per hour to deliver leaflets, how diligent would you be?

Still want to pick the cheapest you can find?

In conclusion, when choosing a leaflet distribution company, whilst price is important it should come lower down on the consideration list.  The main consideration is that the leaflets are delivered to the areas you want them to be delivered to, on time and in good condition.  Explore how the company will ensure that this happens and ask them what guarantees they have in place.  Once you are confident in the companies ability
