Brace for impact – The Lakon Type-11 Prospector launches today in ARX Early Access
Miners rejoice! Elite Dangerous today welcomes the Lakon Type-11 Prospector to ARX Early Access. An industrial-styled ship primarily geared towards mining, Commanders can take advantage of the Prospector’s specialised design to drastically increase their asteroid hauls or perhaps, repurpose it as a more rugged exploration craft.
Elite Dangerous’ first dedicated mining vessel, the Prospector features unique engine mountings with wings that retract when a cargo scoop is opened, and an off-centre cockpit to offer a clear view of the asteroid belt, solidifying the ship’s industrial look. Visually striking, the Prospector also includes two unique Mk II modules: a size 5 drone controller to offer plentiful limpets, and a new mining tool which covers multiple methods of mining, acting as both a mining laser and an abrasion blaster.
Featuring a total of 8 hardpoints, 4 of which are specifically geared towards mining equipment, and 12 optional internals, there are a multitude of set-up options for Commanders to make the Type-11 suit their requirements. Additionally, the ship will deploy with a fighter bay, ensuring a robust defence from pirates more interested in prospecting a player’s cargo bay.
The Type-11 Prospector marks the third ship released this year, following the Gutamaya Corsair and the highly-requested Panther Clipper Mk II.
The Type-11 is available now for 16,520 ARX, whilst the Stellar Edition can be acquired for 33,000 ARX and includes a selection of additional ship kit pieces alongside a striking paint job. Commanders can also choose to expand their cosmetic options with the new Galactic Bundle for 60,000 ARX, containing everything in the Stellar Edition alongside the brand-new Holo-Kit and an additional Hazard ship kit. All Commanders who purchase the ship within the early access window will also receive a limited edition ‘Owners Club’ decal. The Prospector will be available to purchase for in-game earned credits at a later date.
