Old School Runescape Devs to Reveal Details of New Sailing Skill at MCM October

London, Wednesday 20 August 2025: ReedPop has announced that the developers behind Old School RuneScape will be hosting a panel at October’s MCM Comic Con in London, focused on the game’s upcoming new skill: Sailing.

Sailing marks a first for Old School RuneScape history. Since the game’s release in 2013, it has had the same 23 skills, until now. The skill allows players to travel and explore oceans on their very own ship. It also allows players to take part in activities such as deep sea fishing and hunting sea creatures. Players will be able to salvage from shipwrecks, complete courier tasks or even take part in a series of intense ship handling challenges called the Barracuda trials.

The panel will take place on Saturday 25th October 2025 at 3pm on the Centre Stage, and will feature Jagex developers Kieren Charles (Design Director), Ed Pilkington (Principal Narrative Designer) and Elena Nordmark (Senior Game Designer). This panel will be included free for all Saturday, Weekend and VIP ticket holders.

The panel will give fans insights to:

• The history of skills in OSRS
• Early attempts at introducing a new skill
• Development insights and behind-the-scenes footage
• Information for launch
• What’s next for OSRS
• Q&A session (time permitting)
