BTHA launches annual ‘Ask the Media’ video for Toy Fair 2018

The British Toy and Hobby Association today released the annual ‘Ask the Media’ video for Toy Fair 2018. The video outlines all the important PR opportunities available to Toy Fair exhibitors through the BTHA, as well as interviews with journalists and bloggers on their expectations for the show.

Journalists interviewed this year are Steffan Powell, broadcast journalist at the BBC, Jane Hamilton, consumer reporter at The Sun, and Franca Desjardins, blogger at the award-nominated parenting blog A Moment With Franca. Powell has worked as a consumer reporter for the BBC for more than five years, presenting radio and video documentaries for BBC Radio 1, iPlayer, BBC News Online, and BBC Wales. Hamilton is a well-renowned consumer journalist who has written for the likes of The Sun, Netmums, and Marie Claire.

‘Ask the Media’ is presented by Rebecca Deeming, Public Relations Manager at the BTHA. The interviews cover how stories get picked at each outlet, what makes a good story at Toy Fair, and how to avoid common PR mistakes.

The full video can be found on the Toy Fair YouTube channel or through this link:

“Our goal with ‘Ask the Media’ is to ensure exhibitors have all the information they need to make the most of their time at Toy Fair,” said Deeming. “I’d like to personally thank Steffan, Jane, and Franca for taking the time to share their valuable insights. Their interviews are essential viewing for exhibitors that want to work with national and broadcast outlets, as well as the increasingly influential world of bloggers.”

Toy Fair takes place at Olympia, London from 23-25 January 2018. To register for a free pass to the show simply visit www.toyfair.co.uk.
