Winners will be revealed at the Develop:Star Awards, held in the Brighton Dome Corn Exchange, on Wednesday 9 July during Develop:Brighton 2025
Thursday 15 May 2025: Tandem Events have today announced the finalists for the Develop:Star Awards 2025, with the winners to be selected by an industry vote open to previous Develop:Brighton attendees.
The vote is now open and will close on Friday 30 May. The winners will be unveiled at the Develop:Star Awards ceremony on the evening of Wednesday 9 July, during Develop:Brighton 2025.
Shortlists were decided across 17 categories by a panel of industry experts – including the brand-new Best EDI Initiative, Best Marketing Campaign and Best In-Game Accessibility awards.
Sony Interactive Entertainment leads the pack with the highest number of nominations, followed closely by Coal Supper and Bethesda Softworks, thanks to the wildly successful Astro Bot, Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, and Thank Goodness You’re Here!
“We’re happy to get the chance to give recognition to some of the best games, studios, and games makers of the last year, and cotinine to provide a platform for an industry that deserves to be celebrated” said Tandem Events Managing Director Andy Lane.
Recent 2025 hits Split Fiction and Atomfall are up for Best Game, with each games’ developer - Hazelight Studios and Rebellion – also up for Best Studio alongside Facepunch Studios, FuturLab, Larian Studios, Team Asobi, and The Chinese Room.
Shared Memory, the one-person dev behind Animal Well is nominated for Best Small Studio. Animal Well’s launch campaign is also shortlisted for Best Marketing Campaign.
Finalists in the new In-Game Accessibility category include Rebellion’s Atomfall, as well as BLOOBER TEAM’s remake of Silent Hill 2. Sea of Thieves, developed by Rare, is shortlisted for its 2025 Custom Text Overlay update to the game.
As well as these 17 awards, there will be the Develop Star Award, which this year will be awarded to Remedy Entertainment’s Sam Lake in recognition of his remarkable achievements in the industry.
Tables and individual tickets for the awards are available to purchase now with an Early Bird discount offering up to £400 off until 4 June.
