Free-To-Play Pixel Art MMO Drakantos Starts Closed Beta This Week
22 July 2025, Brazil: Wingeon Game Studios is proud to announce that the closed beta for its free-to-play MMORPG Drakantos will run 25–27 July. With 300,000 wishlists on Steam, the game has been steadily building anticipation among fans of pixel art.
Players can request access now via the game’s Steam Page. Successful participants will then be able to invite a friend to play with them.
Drakantos is a free-to-play MMORPG with a nostalgic pixel art style, combined with exciting, fast-paced action combat and more than 20 unique playable heroes. Available on PC, you can check out the closed beta teaser here!
The closed beta starts on 25 July starting at 14:00 BST. The beta will conclude on 27 July.
Drakantos takes place in the fantasy world of Eldras, brought vividly to life through compelling cutscenes and a gorgeous and nostalgic pixel art style. With a growing cast of heroes, adventurers can explore a vast open world with other players and take on missions from the Adventurer’s Guild.
Drakantos Features
- A beautiful open world full of enemies to conquer, secrets to discover, pets to find, puzzles to solve and a story to uncover, with friends and other players on each server.
- From the Adventurer’s Guild tavern, players can embark on instanced dungeon runs inspired by classic dungeon crawlers, as well as tackling over 100 handcrafted dungeons.
- Dungeons include dynamic events including enemy invasions, optional side objectives, hidden treasure chests, colosseum battles and epic boss fights.
- Players can customise the 20+ hero characters available to play as, with a huge number of variations possible with different hairstyles, hoods, armour variations and other details.
- Adventurers can also look after more than 200 pets, hundreds of mounts and wide variety of skins, displays and emotes.
- There are 160 different enemy designs in the game for players to take on.
- Players can customise their playstyles using Drakantos’ Artifact, Trophy and Orb systems, to equip additional active skills, add passive abilities and modify existing ones.
- Players can also take on other players through three PvP modes: Arena (with its different modes and balanced stats) Invasion (a dynamic event inside dungeons where players can invade another group’s dungeon run) and Hellgate (a chaotic mode blending PvP and PvE).
To participate in the closed beta, players can click on the “Request Access” button on Drakantos’ Steam page. In addition, the lucky players chosen will also be able to invite a friend - providing they’ve been Steam friends for at least 30 days.
The first wave of participants will be drawn on the 25 July.
