Industry Experts Gather for MCM Comic Con Indie Games Summit
London, Thursday 15 May: ReedPop has today announced a new summit for independent game developers will be taking place next week at MCM Comic Con on Friday 23rd May.
Featuring industry leaders from Ukie, Secret Mode, GamesBrief, Fireshine Games and more, the summit has been created to offer practical insights and advice for indie game creators, covering key topics like funding, publishing and industry trends.
Attendees will hear from successful indie game developers, publishers and marketers across five panels, including:
Funding sources for developers and creators
Presented by Ukie and Harbottle & Lewis, and based upon the recently updated Ukie Access to Finance guide, this panel will see leaders from Fireshine Games, Virtuos Games, Kindred Spirit and Optimal Creative discuss different resources available to game creators and provide practical tips on how to access them.
The Games Industry in 2025: Understanding today to plan for tomorrow
Join veteran studio co-owner, investor and analyst Nicholas Lovell of GamesBrief as he takes a frank look at the state of the video games industry in 2025 and provides insights on how developers can prepare for 2026.
Playing in Hollywood: how indies can work with big-name IP
In this fireside chat with the founder of Bithell Games, Mike Bithell will reveal how his small studio successfully worked with the likes of Lionsgate and Disney to produce big-name games from John Wick to Tron.
Building buzz: how to get your game noticed pre-release
Learn how small games can stand out in this panel discussion with Stefano Petrullo of Renaissance PR and George Willard of Secret Sauce. The PR and marketing veterans will reveal what works, what doesn't, and what doesn't matter.
How to pitch your game: expert tips on getting noticed and getting a publishing deal
The final panel will see Josh Garrity of Secret Mode provide practical advice on how indie developers can secure publishing deals to help get their game the support it needs to succeed.
The MCM Indie Games Summit will take place in the Platinum Suite, Room 2 on Friday 23rd May from 11:00am - 4:00pm, and is open to all Industry Pass holders.
MCM Comic Con returns to Excel London from Friday 23rd to Sunday 25th May, and will offer gaming, comics and entertainment industry members the chance to attend insightful summits and panels, as well as a space for fans to congregate, meet their favourite celebrity guests, participate in workshops and more.
