The winners of Editor’s Choice Award announced at Toy Fair 2022

Talking Paddington, HoloToyz and Build Your Own Pinball Machine revealed as top three exciting toys of the show, as voted by attending journalists

(London, UK) 26 January, 2022 The Editor’s Choice Award has returned to Toy Fair 2022 with Rainbow Designs’ Talking Paddington voted the winner of the prestigious accolade. Second place was awarded to HoloToyz, while third went to Paper Engine’s Build Your Own Pinball Machine.

“We’re delighted to have won this prestigious award, particularly in our 50th anniversary year,” said Anthony Temple, Managing Director of Rainbow Designs. “Paddington has been one of our licences for more than 40 years and we’re pleased to pick up the award for our exciting new Paddington TV Adventures line. For 2022 we also have many exciting new lines including fabulous playsets of Paddington’s TV Treehouse and Camper Van.”

“HoloToyz was imagined and created during the first lockdown in 2020. As a new start-up to the toy industry, we are beyond delighted with the overwhelming response we have received at the Toy Fair,” commented Declan Fahy, Co-founder of HoloToyz. “At our core, we believe that children should be able to experiment, play with and learn through emerging technologies in a Kid-Safe environment away from the open web, whilst not losing touch with the physical world.”

“We are delighted to have received the Editor’s Choice award receiving 3rd place for our Build Your Own pinball kit. We are really proud to have made the shortlist when looking around all the amazing toys that are on display at this year’s fair,” said Louise Clasby, Director of Paper Engines. “The pinball is our newest product so a great accolade for both our product range and our talented paper engineering team. We are pleased so many people enjoyed playing with it too!”

The winners were chosen by journalists attending the opening day of Toy Fair 2022, which returned to Olympia London this week for the first time since the start of the covid-19 pandemic. The annual event saw more than 260 exhibiting companies launching exciting new toys that will become the must-have products over the year ahead.

“It is great to be able to once again announce the winners of the Editor’s Choice Award,” said Rebecca Deeming, Public Relations & Events Manager. “We are proud to recognise the industry’s innovation and ingenuity during these unusual times, and the Editor’s Choice Award celebrates this. To be crowned winner is a major achievement. I would like to thank all the attending journalists who took the time to vote on the annual award.”
