Visitor registration opens for Toy Fair 2019

Pokémon to sponsor the foyer for third year in a row

(London, UK) 4 September, 2018 – The British Toy & Hobby Association announced today that registration has now opened for media and visitors to attend Toy Fair 2019. The 66th annual Toy Fair will be held at Olympia London from Tuesday 22 to Thursday 24 January 2019, with the press day scheduled for Tuesday 22 January. Attendees can now register to attend next year’s show for free through the official Toy Fair website: www.toyfair.co.uk.

Toy Fair is the largest dedicated toy, game and hobby trade exhibition in the UK. Covering a total of 22,000m² floor space, the show hosts more than 250 exhibiting companies that are set to launch thousands of new toy lines. Visitors and attending press will be amongst the first to experience these new toys, while also being given the chance to discover new start-up brands and hidden gems from around the world. In addition to this, Toy Fair offers a fantastic opportunity for visitors to network with the UK toy industry, ranging from the largest companies and retailers, to imaginative inventors and ambitious start-ups, all under one roof.

“Toy Fair is an unmissable event for us,” said a representative from Tesco’s toy buying unit. “It’s amazing to see how much toys can develop between previews and the event, so there’s always plenty to be excited about.”

Among the headliners this year is The Pokémon Company International, who has been confirmed as the official sponsor of the show’s entrance foyer. This will be the third year in a row that The Pokémon Company International has taken over the Toy Fair foyer.

“Toy Fair is a key event in our calendar and we’re excited to sponsor the foyer again this year,” said Pete Murphy, Senior Director, Marketing & Licensing, of The Pokémon Company International. “Being the very first thing that visitors see when they come to Toy Fair gives our new launches incredible exposure and drives traffic to our distributors’ stands (Asmodee and Character Options).”

Other confirmed exhibitors this year include LEGO, VTech, Golden Bear, Orchard Toys, John Adams, K’Nex, Eduk8 Worldwide, Melissa & Doug, Keel Toys, Brainstorm plus many more.

“Toy Fair 2019 is the perfect event for exhibitors to show visitors the incredible passion and inspiration of the UK toy industry,” said Majen Immink, Director of Fairs and Special Events. “Every year we are delighted to see so many returning exhibitors, but also to see so many brand-new stands revealing products at their first ever show.”

Register for free at www.toyfair.co.uk from 4th September. To make reapplying easy, attendees from any of the past three Toy Fairs will receive a Smart Link to their existing profile, so need only check, update and submit their details to receive their 2019 show ticket. Visitors who choose not to pre-register or confirm their Smart Link will be required to prove they are a genuine trade visitor and pay a £15 entry fee on the door.
