Choose the right car seat!
There are many things to consider when it comes to choosing a child car seat. Is it approved for my child? How long can I use it? Does it fit in my car? How easy is it to install?
Here we are only scratching the surface of thoughts running around in connection with this important decision. These questions and many more are relevant points to be taken into account. Nevertheless, there is a point that is more important than anything else of course - safety!
How do I know that the seat I choose is a safe seat?
All car seats sold must be approved according to the regulations ECE R44-04. This is a good yardstick however in Sweden, they have been referring to a higher level regulation for the approval of car seats, the Plus Test. The Plus test is a voluntary certification that allows all car seat manufacturers to prove the safety of their seats by undergoing one of the toughest tests in which the focus is on the need to keep down the neck forces on the child to prevent paralysis or death.
To date only 11 car seats have passed the requirements of the Plus Test.
The year’s biggest news- BeSafe iZi Plus*
With the Besafe launch of iZi Plus we now have 5 out of 11 Plus Test approved car seats. IZi Plus is built on the same principle as its predecessor iZi Kid and Combi that it should not be the consumer’s arm muscles that are the crucial factor in how well the seat is installed in the car.
The extra news on iZi Plus of course is that it can be used for a long time,
at least to five years old, the seat is approved for 25 kg.
