Samsung Galaxy S4: Keeping Expectations High

Samsung Galaxy S4 was announced keeping high expectations from the handset as the maker had a challenge of launching a better phone than its own flagship, the Galaxy S3, which was a ruler amongst Android phones. After making a debut, Galaxy S3 did not take much time in becoming the best selling Smartphone ever. When its successor Galaxy S4 was released it already had a big fan following so expectation from this handset were really high, which was managed well by Samsung by not disappointing its customers in terms of hardware specifications.

On looking at this Smartphone you will find that it does not look much different from its predecessor. The only difference was with a large screen that could help while differentiating it from Galaxy S3. Samsung Galaxy S4 deals provide you with a phone with more compact and refined build. Just like its predecessor, this phone is built using polycarbonate material which does not seem alluring when compared to the Apple iPhone 5 and HTC One phones.  

With the release of Galaxy S4, the Korean giant was expecting to clinch its goal of dominating the Smartphone world. It has become the best selling phones world wide generating unit sales of 40 million for Samsung. Although many other manufacturers have entered with much improved flagship devices such as Sony Xperia Z1 and LG G2 but still the S4 is first choice for the masses. This handset comes with 136.6 X 69.8 X 7.9 mm dimensional measurement and a weight of 130 g which makes it quite comfortable to hold with your hands.

The front panel is surrounded by a chrome frame that gives it a premium feel. Its narrow frame and thinner bezel make it look more like a phone than a phablet. There is a physical home button and two capacitive buttons for menu and back controls in the front of the phone. Above the screen reside, different sensors, notification light, earpiece grill and a front camera. On the right hand side of S4, you will find a power button while a volume rocker is placed on the left side. There is a 3.5 mm headset jack and infrared receiver on the top while a micro USB port at the bottom of this phone.

It has a removable back which will provide you with an experience of the flimsy build on removing the back cover. There is a 5 inch Full HD Super AMOLED display that can give 1080 x 1920 pixel resolution along with 441 per pixel density. Samsung’s flagship was released with Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean with TouchWiz user interface but recently the phone has got Android 4.3 Jelly Bean update. You can navigate this phone using the Back and Menu capacitive touch buttons and the Home physical key.

On pressing long, the home button will take you to the app switcher and you can move to the task manager. If you double press the Home Key it will launch S-Voice and Voice Assistant. On long pressing the Menu key, option of search will be launched. Some of the pre-loaded apps include S Planner, voice recorder, ChatOn messaging app, Samsung hub content etc.
