R.U.N Global, Inc. host ‘no excuses’ workshop inspired by Eric Thomas

Event-marketing experts, R.U.N Global, Inc. held a company-wide workshop this week, inspired by Eric Thomas’ ‘no excuses’ speech.

The inspiration behind this week's workshop was Eric Thomas' 'no excuses' speech. Eric Thomas is an American motivational speaker, author and minister. At just 16 years old, he dropped out of high school and began living on the streets of Detroit. Thomas had a tough background, but never uses that as an excuse. In the speech, he argues that people who fail are always looking to shift the blame, and he explains that people don’t hold themselves accountable.

Mr. Gaston used the no excuses speech as the inspiration for a companywide workshop. During the workshop, Mr. Gaston revealed the biggest excuses people use for not living the life they want.

1/ “I’m afraid of failure.”

The fear of failure is often the biggest thing holding people back. Mr. Gaston appreciates that the fear of failure can be overwhelming; however, he argues that to achieve great things people need to step outside of their comfort zone and take risks. At R.U.N Global, Inc. they teach their workforce that failure is not fatal and to embrace fear and use it as motivation to achieve success.

2/ “I don’t have enough time.”

The difference between the successful and the unsuccessful is how they utilize their time. ‘Everyone has the same 24 hours in the day, it’s how people choose to use that time that dictates their level of success,’ commented Mr. Gaston. At R.U.N Global, Inc. they teach their workforce effective time management to allow them to achieve their goals. The firm argues that if people want something bad enough, they will find the time to make it happen.

3/ “I don’t have the qualifications.”

Mr. Gaston believes that people often use a lack of education as an excuse. The event-marketing specialists contend that education is not a predictor of success. While qualifications can be very advantageous R.U.N Global, Inc. believes that a degree isn’t necessary to achieve great success. Mr. Gaston argues that a commitment to personal development and a strong work ethic can overcome a lack of education.
