The Northern Powerhouse is a government initiative to bring together the cities, towns and rural communities in the north of England to boost the region’s productivity and economy, and to create more opportunities for the next generation.

The initiative has seen more considerable investment in supporting new enterprises in Sheffield, as well as a significant rise in future-focused job opportunities for young people in the city. With a 14 percent rise in jobs being advertised in recent years, Sheffield is now among the fastest growing cities in terms of job opportunities in the UK.
