Live Innovations are proud of their recognition and reward culture and Managing Director, Tom Harris believes that it has played an integral role in the firm’s continued success.

After the firm’s most testing period, Mr Harris was the recipient of the ‘Business Owner of the Year’ Award at the 2018 UK Sales & Marketing Awards. Just a couple of months later, Mr Harris received notification that he was a finalist for the 2018 SME National Business Awards Young Business Person of the Year.

‘Awards and nominations are recognition from my peers, and it’s a great feeling. They reinforced the importance of the recognition and reward culture that we have developed at Live Innovations,’ commented Mr Harris.

Figures show that 8 out of 10 millennials think they deserve to be recognised more for their work. By 2025, millennials will make up three-quarters of the global workforce. Therefore, Mr Harris believes that it is pivotal for all companies to implement a recognition programme.

The business owner has revealed the three advantages of recognition.

1. Happiness levels

When people feel appreciated for their hard work and efforts, people feel good about what they do, and that simultaneously elevates happiness levels. At Live Innovations, they believe that happiness and success are linked. Award-winning entrepreneur, Tom Harris has worked hard to develop a company culture that is fun, friendly and nurturing.

2. Productivity

A survey found that on average, happy employees are 12% more productive. At Live Innovations, they strive to develop an environment where their workforce is motivated and inspired to allow them to achieve optimum productivity levels. Research found that 69% of employees say they would work harder if they felt their efforts were better appreciated. Mr Harris continuously examines productivity levels, and there has been a direct correlation with productivity levels when incentives are on offer.

3. Loyalty

People who feel appreciated remain loyal to a company, and that is extremely valuable. At Live Innovations, they believe that their recognition and reward culture has played an integral role in their ability to retain top talent.

“Every company is going to experience some level of turnover. However, implementing a recognition programme can be the difference in retaining people,” commented Mr Harris.
