Olympic football - arrive early, plan your journey

Olympic organisers are urging spectators travelling to football fixtures at Old Trafford to plan their journey and arrive in plenty of time.

Saturday's (4 Aug) quarter-final between Japan and Egypt starts at noon, and is a sell-out. Turnstiles will be open three hours before kick-off, and ticket holders are asked to arrive early, given the extensive airport-style security checks at the stadium. Olympic action will also be shown on the big screens in the stadium before kick off.Fans are encouraged to use public transport or, if driving, to prebook the extensive 'park and ride' facilities available. To plan your travel to Old Trafford, visit www.getaheadofthegames.com
