Dare you take the Halloween chilli challenge?

Budding chefs can prove they are hot stuff by taking the Fire House Chilli Challenge during the Whitefield Halloween Festival.

Nine contestants will battle it out to make a meal of their choice that must contain fresh chillies (donated by R Noone & Sons).

Cooks have one hour, using only a two-ring camping stove, to impress judges from The Buddha Lounge and Masterchef finalist Jackie Kearney.

The competition takes place on Thursday 25 October at noon and 3pm, at Whitefield Fire Station inside the engine house. The doors will be opened and members of the public can watch the competition unfold.

So will you have the judges’ mouths watering, or have them running for the hills?

To enter, email info@halloweenfest.org.uk and say what you want to cook.
