Extended agenda for Prestwich Township Forum

The next Prestwich Township forum will be held at the Longfield Suite, in Prestwich on Wednesday 13
March at 6pm, half an hour earlier than usual.

The meeting has a packed agenda and first up is a presentation by Manchester City Council and Heaton Park management, about the Parklife music festival that will be taking place in
Heaton park over the weekend of Saturday 8 and Sunday 9 June.

There will be a range of presentations and discussion topics including:

  • Details on the welfare reform; changes to welfare benefits, council tax benefit, housing benefit, disability related benefits and social fund
  • Update on current recycling trends in Prestwich and what needs to be done to meet the challenges ahead
  • Details of the new 'StreetSafe' initiative which would see the introduction of 20mph zones in residential areas and streets

As usual there will also be public question time. Chair of Prestwich Township Forum, Mr
David Stanley said, “We hope that local residents will come along and join us at the meeting. The
agenda is on important issues and we want to hear the views of local people.”
