Half-term Halloween treats in Whitefield

Stuck what to do this half term? Fear not - Whitefield Halloween Festival has plenty of ghoulish treats in store to keep you entertained.

Youngsters can take part in pumpkin carving masterclasses with The Pumpkin Lady, lantern making, tarot workshops, dance workshops and much more.

British horror writers will chill the blood with readings, and you can meet a real life monster hunter who goes all over the world in search of monsters. There are talks about medieval monsters, bats, and a discussion about The Twilight books. The 2012 Festival is bursting with creative activities to engage children in an educational and creative environment.

Whitefield Halloween Festival works with its partners Bury Council and GM Police and Fire in 'Operation Treacle', which aims to provide a safe and organised environment and curb anti-social behaviour.

The festival runs from 20 to 31 October. For details, look at www.halloweenfest.org.uk
