Press release -
Join the Action Day at Redbank Lodges
Residents of Abbey Close Estate in Radcliffe are inviting people to join them in keeping Redbank Lodges looking spick and span.
Volunteers will meet on Saturday 29 September (11am to 3pm) to cut back overgrown vegetation and branches and keep this greenspace accessible for visitors.
The group meets regularly to carry out a variety of tasks at Redbank Lodges aimed at giving wildlife a helping hand, ensuring that people visiting the lodges can enjoy the natural sights and sounds to be found on the site.
Members have planted more than 1,000 wildflowers at the lodges to provide a spring food source for insects. They have also built a new pond-dipping platform on one of the lodges thanks to funding from Six Town Housing and the BANG Project, which has proved hugely popular with local families over the summer.
There will be another pond-dipping opportunity at the Redbank Lodges Action Day. For more details, call Jacqui Goggs on 0161 253 7764 or email j.goggs@bury.gov.uk
