Play a key role in shaping health and social services

Are you someone with a passion for making things better? Do you think you could make a positive contribution to how health and social care services are delivered in Bury?

Healthwatch Bury will be a new ‘not for profit’ independent organisation to represent the views of local people, including those who use health and social care services, so they can help shape how services are delivered.

Councillor Rishi Shori, cabinet member for adult care and well-being, said: “We are looking for dedicated people who believe they have the skills and commitment to become members of Shadow Healthwatch Bury. Members will play a significant role in developing the future direction and customer focus of Healthwatch, and they will maintain strong working relationships with Bury Council, NHS and the local Health and Well-Being Board.”

Healthwatch will be responsible for gathering views and understanding the experiences of people who use local services, and promoting and supporting the involvement of people in the commissioning and provision of local care services and how they are scrutinised.

The closing date for receipt of applications to become a member of Shadow Healthwatch Bury is 14 March. To download the recruitment pack, go to www.bury.gov.uk/healthwatch - for more details, or to ask for a paper copy of the pack, call Shirley Allen on 253 6302 or email S.Allen@bury.gov.uk
