Prestwich Big Spring Clean - volunteers welcome!

Press release -

Prestwich Big Spring Clean - volunteers welcome!

Plans are under way for a great day in Prestwich on Sunday 19 May as Local In Prestwich (LIP) business group marches on with their plans for The Big Spring Clean.

The group are asking for as many volunteers as possible to head down to the Longfield fountains and donate any time they can, even if it is only an hour.

Street entertainers and musicians have been drafted in to keep the troops happy as they clean away, creating a carnival atmosphere.

Children are welcome too and the best decorated broom will win a prize just to add a further incentive.

The adults won’t be neglected though with several local businesses offering vouchers and discounts on the day to thank the volunteers. There will also be a special meal deal available at local eateries to keep the workers hunger at bay!

The Big Spring Clean is designed to encourage positive environmental behaviour as well as a sense of community spirit. On the day team leaders will manage groups of volunteers in several tasks including weeding, litter picking, painting and window cleaning. Volunteers are encouraged to bring their own gloves and brushes to help on the day.

So grab your brooms and meet at the Longfield fountains on Sunday 19 May from 10am to 4pm.
