Your Tourist Information Centre Needs You!

Forties Fever hits Bury Tourist Information Centre on Saturday 25 May as it celebrates the East Lancashire Railway 1940s Weekend.

The centre will be holding its popular “Make Do and Mend” craft fair with hand made goods, children’s ‘grow your own’ activity, demonstrations and music from the 1940s with singer Jane Francis.

The Fusilier Museum will be offering free admission to anyone in period costume during the weekend.

On the first floor, Delicious café will be serving up traditional wartime fare as well as their usual home made hot food, sandwiches and cakes.

The event will last from 10am to 4pm, and the centre is in Moss Street, in the Fusilier Museum, just opposite Bury Art Museum.

For more information, including further information about any of the 1940s weekend events, telephone 0161 253 5111 or email touristinformation@bury.gov.uk
