    Following the resignation of Councillor Luis McBriar, two requests from registered electors in Tottington have been made to the Returning Officer for a by-election to be held in the Tottington ward. The successful candidate will be elected for a two-year term, which is the remaining period available for this appointment.

    Bury Council has introduced traffic management measures on the A56 in Ramsbottom, near Park Farm, as emergency works are carried out in response to an ongoing landslip affecting the road.
