Motorists are being urged to avoid parts of Summerseat for the time being due to flooding. Of particular concern are Bass Lane and Rowlands Road. Emergency services are on site tackling the problems caused by rising river levels.
Staff from Bury Council and the emergency services are dealing with multiple incidents of flooding across the borough.
More work will take place in the new year to tackle flooding in Bolton Road West, Ramsbottom.
Residents are being reminded that most bin collections will be a day earlier than usual over the Christmas and New Year period.
