More than 400 residents are keeping safe and well this winter thanks to Winter Well packs targeted towards those most vulnerable because of cold weather and due to the rising cost of living.

A vital community centre in its neighbourhood is expanding its services to help with the cost of living with the support of a grant from Bury Council. The Phoenix Centre, based in St Mary’s Park in Prestwich, is a hub for the local community and used by more than 2000 people every month.
The Trust House has grown from a small charity providing a community café in Whitefield to an organisation delivering a range of much needed support across the borough. It is using a £2000 Cost of living Community Fund grant from Bury Council & VCFA to add wellbeing sessions to its programme of support
Cost of living support is helping residents with affordable healthy cooking and access to pre-loved kitchen items. Friends of Clarence Park and social enterprise Cracking Good Food recently held a Kitchen Kit Giveaway and cooking activity fun day. Residents and community groups were able to come along and pick up pre-loved kitchen equipment to enable them to cook their favourite meals.
