Links Identified Between Male Fertility and the Use of a Jockstrap
The Jockstrap has always been a great asset to sportsmen in the majority of sports; in fact the jockstrap itself was designed specifically to reduce strain and injury in the groin area for cyclists. Now the jockstrap is used across the sporting world to provide support and protection for sportsmen from amateurs right through to professionals.
But recent studies have shown that the benefits of the Jockstrap do not end with sporting achievement but can actually help decrease the rate of infertility we are seeing in current male trends.
The jockstrap was designed as a support mechanism for the male genitals to lift them away from the body and keep them away from the cycling seat. However, it has been identified that when a jockstrap is worn and the male genitals are supported slightly away from the body, there is a minute but significant decrease in the temperature within the scrotum. It is this reduction in temperature that enables more sperm to thrive, and the level of male infertility to reduce.
Male genitalia are found outside the human body, rather than inside like the female reproductive organs, because the temperature required to encourage effective sperm growth is slightly below the average temperature of the human body. The scrotum are therefore found outside the body where the temperature is very slightly lower. By wearing a jockstrap and pulling the scrotum even further away from the body, even by a millimetre or so, the temperature can reduce to a level which is closer to the perfect temperature for healthy sperm, enabling more sperm to be produced and maintained until they are required for conception.
A number of factors are contributing to an increase in the temperature surrounding the groin including the type of materials we now wear. The increasing popularity of man-made fibres, which trap heat more effectively next to the body, has contributed to this increase in temperature which could be eradicated with the use of more natural, breathable fabrics such as cotton. In addition, changes in fashions to tighter trousers and tighter underwear have also increased the temperature in this region. By keeping your clothes and underwear looser and less constrictive, it is possible to maintain a healthier temperature for sperm in this area.
In addition, our increasingly sedentary lifestyles have also been identified as a contributing factor in this issue. As we spend more time sat down either in front of a computer or at a desk and the increasing amount of time we spend driving has led to increased temperatures being experienced. When you are sat down your genitals are usually trapped between your legs or squashed into your body which means that the temperature in this area increases and becomes less ideal for sperm development. In fact it has now been pr oven that men who sit for very long periods of time such as Taxi Drivers and Long Distance Lorry Drives have on average a lower sperm rate than the traditional male as they spend so much time with their scrotum warmed by their body.
So even if you are not going to be competing in the next world cup, simply wearing a Jockstrap while you carrying out your day to day activities can mean that your chances of conceiving a baby naturally are increased. So why not give it a go and see if a jockstrap can help you.
